All Volunteer Organization

Peace House Community truly needs a village to keep its doors open. For more than 30 years, volunteers have shown up to volunteer with the right set of skills, knowledge and spirit to keep us moving forward.

IS PEACE HOUSE COMMUNITY
MAKING A DIFFERENCE?

Celebrating more than 30 years of nourishing the bodies and souls of economically challenged and marginalized women and men in the Twin Cities.

The community members know that at Peace House Community they will be honored as human beings, known by their names, and not judged because of how they look, their mental health, or what they have done in the past. Peace House Community is a place of safety and respite from the streets.

ABOUT OUR LEADERSHIP

The ministry continues to operate with an all-volunteer Board of Directors, all-volunteer Leadership Team, and approximately 40 volunteers in total – serving from less than one year of service to more than 28.

In addition, we have a Manager who overseas our day-to-day operations.

The board members have proven experience in areas of nonprofit administration, finance, legal, spirituality, and volunteer development.  The Board has developed and maintains a Board of Directors Handbook, Volunteer Handbook, and an Employee Handbook for our community member staff.

With the contribution of community members and all volunteers, Peace House Community developed and maintains a three-year strategic plan that guides the organization’s work.

IS PEACE HOUSE COMMUNITY SUSTAINABLE?

Peace House Community has been serving the marginalized women and men of the Twin Cities for more than 30 years.  Beginning with Rose Tillemans, CSJ Sister, and a few volunteers who offered a cup of coffee and a listening heart and it, it has evolved into an organization that offers a variety of services.  And, in the spirit that it was founded folks on the street have a place to be heard.

IS PEACE HOUSE COMMUNITY FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE?

Peace House Community’s donations go directly to the services provided at Peace House Community and are fully tax deductible through our 501 (c) (3) status.

Each year we have achieved our financial goal to fund our operations.
